So much planning goes into a wedding. From picking who's in your wedding party down to what colour of napkins will be at your reception - there are a lot of decisions to be made.
A lot of ladies (& men) want an early start to wedding planning to ensure they're ahead of the wedding game, making the big day as stress free as possible. We have found seven ways to get ahead of the wedding planning game, specifically written for those overly-prepared, keener brides.
While some ladies can plan their weddings in 3 months or less, (which of course, we've written a blog for you girls too!), some of us *cough* me *cough* have been planning our weddings since we were 12. So, this blog is for the girls like me - the early planners.
1. Set A Budget
Take time to learn what you can afford and set a budget. Weddings can be costly, so set your budget right away with your S.O. to ensure you don't feel like you're doing this....
2. Attend bridal showers and wedding expos
Both of these events will give inspiration for your wedding, whether it be bridal gowns, bouquets, centrepieces, or CAKE. It is a place to decide your wedding style. Also, expos usually have pretty awesome freebies, coupons or sometimes chances to win things like your honeymoon! So, why not attend!?
Pinterest will be your bestfriend during all your wedding planning, trust me. It is heaven for brides. Of course, we have a pinterest FULL of wedding inspo. Create your own profile, take a look at ours, and start pinning!
4. Create a wedding binder
Basically your pinterest, but on paper. Carats & Confetti wrote an article about creating a wedding binder. Read it. I have a very future oriented, organizational personality, and this article gave me LIFE.
5. Book the venue (which also means your date is chosen!)
Having your date chosen and venue booked allows you to start planning everything else: food, guest list, decor, invitations, etc. These two tasks are the most important items to get the ball rolling.
6. Get your Attire
Let your groom worry about his and his groomsmen attire, and let's focus on the you and the girls! Get your wedding dress as early as you can, and allow time for alterations.
Now, for your bride tribe. Rent your bridesmaid dresses from BridesMade. The earlier you order the dresses, the bigger the discount you get, as shown below.
7. Lastly, and most importantly, don't listen to what other people tell you your wedding should be like.
This day is for you and your S.O. to celebrate. Be cautious with your budget, and don't worry too much about trying to please everyone.
And there you have it. 7 ways to get ahead of the wedding game.
