Signature cocktails have increasingly become a popular trend in today's weddings. They are the perfect way to add your own personal touch to the bar menu, while adding to the ambiance of the event. They can reflect anything from your theme, your go-to date-night drink, or even the first drink your partner bought you! You can even later provide guests with the recipe, as part of their thank-you favours - the perfect way for them to keep celebrating your marriage even after the big day.

1.  Muddled Berry Mojito

Recipe - Serves 1 cocktail

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 C fresh berries
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar or agave nectar
  • 3 mint leaves
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4 oz sparkling water or lemon lime soda
  • Ice

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Take berries, sugar and mint and muddle together in bottom of 8 oz glass
2. Add vodka, ice and top with sparkling water
3. Garnish with berries and fresh mint leaves
4. Serve!


2. Plum and Thyme Prosecco Smash

Recipe - Serves 2 cocktails

INGREDIENTS 

  • 2 Plums
  • 6 Thyme Sprigs
  • Juice from one Lemon
  • 4 Tbsp. Thyme Simple Syrup (1/2 Cup of Sugar, 1/2 Cup of Water, bring to a boil, remove from heat, add thyme sprigs, stir, and let cool. Chill until ready to use.)
  • 1 Bottle of Prosecco or your favourite bubbly

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Peel and chop 2 plums
2. Muddle the plums with thyme simple syrup, and lemon juice until all of the plum juices have been released. (You can also muddle right in the class if you prefer to have bits of fruit in your cocktail)
3. Shake with ice in cocktail shaker
4. Pour over crushed ice evenly between two glasses
5. Top off with Prosecco and garnish with extra plum slices and thyme sprigs
6. Serve!

Recipe - Serves 1 cocktail

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 oz Mango Rum
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz soda water
  • Dash of Blue Curacao
  • Sugar for the rim

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Sugar the rim - dip the rim of the glass in either lemon or lime juice, and then into sanding sugar
2. Combine rum, pineapple juice, and Blue Curacao in a shaker with ice, and shake
3. Pour into an ice filled glass
4. Fill the rest of the glass with soda water
5. Serve!

Recipe - Serves 1 cocktail

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 oz Baileys Irish cream
  • 1/2 oz apple Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz butterscotch Schnapps 
  • 2 oz half-and-half or whole milk
  • Coarse sugar
  • Ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Rim glass with coarse sugar mixed with cinnamon
2. Pour all ingredients into a drink shaker
3. Fill shaker with ice and shake
4. Pour into a chilled glass (with or without ice)
5. Serve!


5. Red Moon Over Manhattan

Recipe - Serves 1 cocktail

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 oz red wine
  • 1/2 oz bourbon
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1 large ice cube
  • 3 gourmet maraschino cherries
  • Orange peel

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Rub orange peel around the rim of the glass
2. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake
3.  Add ice into glass, and pour cocktail over ice
4. Garnish cocktail with cherries
5. Serve!


6. Cotton Candy Champagne

INGREDIENTS 

  • Champagne
  • Cotton candy

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fill champagne flutes with champagne
2. Right before serving, add cotton candy on top of each glass
3. Serve!

Serve your favourite local craft beer! This gives you the excuse to taste-test local beers, while adding a touch of home to the cocktail hour. And even better, pair it with mini finger foods!
