Having a good playlist can really help to set the tone for your wedding day. Whether it be to calm your nerves, or to get the party started a bit early, the right music can really help you on your big day. We've put together our top picks for the best songs to play BEFORE your wedding.
With all the craziness going on before the day of the wedding, you should be listening to uplifting, happy music that gets you excited for your big day! Here are some of our suggestions, in no particular order:
1. Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow - Fleetwood Mac
How can this song not get you completely jazzed for the day you're going to have tomorrow?! It's upbeat, it's exciting, it's Fleetwood Mac!
2. I'm So Excited - The Pointed Sisters
Although most of our generation will associate this song with Jessie Spano's iconic meltdown, it's still an awesome pump up tune, and has therefore made our list.
3. I Only Want to Be With You - Dusty Springfield
What a classic! Such a great, light-hearted tune, loved by all ages.
4. White Wedding - Billy Idol
'Wedding' is literally in the title. This song is a great 80's throw back - your mom will love it.
5. You Make My Dreams Come True - Hall & Oates
Such a catchy beat! I personally can't sit still when this song comes on.
"You make-a-my dreeammmss come truuee - ooo ooo, ooo, oooo!"
6. Perfect Day - Hoku
You may or may not recognize this little gem coming to us all they from 2001. It's positive, cutesy, and perfect for your perfect day!
7. Marry You - Bruno Mars
It's been in the background of hundreds of wedding based youtube videos recently, and for good reason! Bruno knows how to keep the energy high and the gushy lovey-dovey feelings flowing!
8. Crazy In Love - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z
Is it even legal to have a playlist that doesn't have include Queen B? It's the perfect jam for you and your girls while you're getting ready. Props if you can nail the power walk, and MAJOR props to anyone who still remembers the dance.
9. LoveBug - Jonas Brothers
It's cute, bubbly, and comes from the height of the JoBros fame. You don't have to like them, but you can't tell me that this song doesn't make you smile.
10. You're The One That I Want - Grease SoundTrack
"Ooo, Ooo, Oooooo - HONEY!". Need I say more?
11. I Gotta Feelin' - The Black-Eyed Peas
This song has GOT to get you excited to dance the night away with your closest friends and family.
12. I Can Hear the Bells - Hairspray Soundtrack
You're allowed to skip this one if you aren't a fan of musicals. We'll only judge you slightly. Bonus Points if your Bridesmaids know Penny's lines.
13. The Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson
Just as every playlist needs the Queen, no self-respecting playlist can be missing the king. MJ has a couple classics that would fit in our playlist, but this one is the clear winner. Anyone else want to watch Center Stage?"
14. Sugar - Maroon 5
If you've seen the music video, you know why it's on the list. If you haven't, watch it below! It's super catchy and fun to sing along to.
15. Happy Together - Turtles
Starts a little slow, but give it time - this baby really builds. There are many covers of this song, but nothing beats the original.
16. For Once In My Life - Stevie Wonder
This jam will go over well with bridesmaids and grandmas alike. Super positive, super upbeat, and will definitely make you swoon over your soon-to-be legally-wed life partner.
17. Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows
Hey, if it's good enough for royalty (Shrek and Fiona), then it's good enough for me (not royalty).
18. L.O.V.E. - Michael Buble
This song is great to calm your wedding day jitters, and to remember why you decided to get married in the first place. This Michael Buble cover is wonderfully happy.
19. I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston
This song will be a hit with your bridal party - especially if you started the day with Mimosa's. Sing it with me, ladies - "And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII will ALWAYS love YOUU!!!"
20. Chapel of Love - The Beach Boys
If you ask me, no limo service is worth its salt if it doesn't have this song blasting while you head to your chapel!
