Top 10 Wedding Movies

What better way is there to get psyched about a wedding than to watch some of the best weddings Hollywood has to offer? From the drama, to the dresses, to the food, getting to experience all the best (and worst) moments of someone else's wedding, within the luxury of your own home, seems like a perfect way to spend an evening to me. Here is our list of our top 10 favourite movies about weddings.

*We will try to limit spoilers.

10. Mamma Mia! (2008)

Gotta love a musical about a wedding! It's happy, it's upbeat, it's Meryl Streep. Who were you hoping would end up being the father?

9. The Wedding Planner (2001)

Not that I would generally condone lying about being engaged (sorry... mini spoiler... but it's been 15 years), but I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one that was rooting for Jennthew (Mathifer?).

8. My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)

If you haven't seen it, you must AT LEAST watch the "Say a Little Prayer" clip. Also, odd to see Cameron Diaz not get the guy (again, sorry, spoilers).

7. Bride Wars (2009)

What's cuter than two little girls dreaming about their weddings, and then growing up and having their dreams come true?! Probably not Kate Hudson's blue highlights.

6. 27 Dresses (2008)

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Katherine Heigl at her prime. How heartbreaking was it when Tess cut up their mother's dress though?! Cold Tess, cold.

Buh-buh-buh-Benny and the Jetsssss.

5. Meet the Parents (2000)

This movie single-handedly made me a little terrified to ever meet a significant other's parents. I'm almost convinced High School BF's parents are spies...

4. My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)

I have a crazy family, but they are nothing compared to the Portokalos'. This movie deserves to be on our list strictly because of all the delicious food that is served throughout the film.

3. Father of the Bride (1991)

It stars Steve Martin, so you know it's going to be a hit. I honestly rented this 150 times between 1995 and 1997. If I ever find a Franck, I will be planning parties on the daily.

2. The Princess Bride (1987)

Coming in at a close second is this gem. This movie will teach you everything you need to know about twue lowve and mawwiage.

1. Bridesmaids (2011)

As if there was any question! Although there are many greats on and off of this list, nothing will ever beat the massive cookie, the awkward double toast, and Stove.
