Boots and Bling, Country Theme

Howdy cowboys and cowgirls,

I'm goin' to teach ya'll how to throw a boots and bling bachelorette part-ay!

But in all seriousness, this theme of bachelorette party makes for a super fun shindig. So grab your cowboy hats and cowboy boots and delve into the world of getting buck wild.

We, of course, have a Pinterest board specifically for a country themed/Nashville themed bachelorette party, check it out for even more inspiration!

1. Food

Food for this theme, like mostly any other theme, can be any food you'd like. The theme lies within the food setup. So whether you choose hamburgers or filet minion, ensure the theme stays alive.

Throw any snack-like items in mini wooden barrels, large items on cactus shaped plates, and name all your food fun and creative names. For example, call your parmesan french fries, "mini cacti'" or your cotton candy, "tumbleweed".

2. Drinks

For your drinks, set up a "Watering Hole" or "Saloon" drink station where your fellow cowgirls can pick their poison. This way everyone can mix their own cocktails while also deciding whether or not to add alcohol.

We've chosen our fav alcoholic country themed recipe to share with you that we've dubbed "The John Wayne" from Epicurious.

To make eight drinks, you will need

  • Two large tea bags
  • 1/2 cup of boiling water
  • 8 fresh mint spring (if you wish)
  • 4 cups of lemonade made from concentrate
  • 1/2 cup of vodka
  • Ice cubes
  • 8 lemon slices

Directions

Steep tea bags in boiling water for five minutes, then throw away the used tea bags. Place mint into the pitcher and mash the leaves up until they look wilted. Pour in the tea, lemonade and vodka. Let it cool in the fridge and add ice cubes. Serve into eight glasses and garnish with a lemon slice.

3. Invites

Now that your food is all planned out, you probably should invite your favourite ladies. Now-a-days most invites are via text or Facebook, but c'mon, physical invitations call for a great keepsake and memory holder.

Keep the invites short and to the point. The invite below is a perfect example of the simplicity of the invite needed. It is fun and flashy and gets all the right points across.

4. Outfits

Dressing for the occasion is of course a biggie so ensure you and your bride tribe are dressed to impress.  Whether you're rocking a floral knee length dress and a cowboy hat, or matching custom t-shirts, you'll be sure to make heads roll.

If you're throwing your country themed bach in Nashville, the shirts below are absolutely perfect.

If you're not hosting your party in Nashville, not a problem! We have lots of shirt inspo!

5. Decor

Decorate with mason jars filled with treats or tealights for a soft country look. Use lace table cloths and lacy accents. Appreciate the imperfections of any vintage wear you have (cups, plates, cloths) and set them out. Lastly, use those empty Jack Daniel's bottles as decor. Throw some baby breath flowers in them, and you've got some beautiful decor.

6. Game Ideas

First idea, of course, mechanical bull riding. BUT, mechanical bulls aren't something you can just buy (wait, can you?). So, plan to hit up a bar with a mechanical bull and put some bets down on who can last the longest. Rather than the bets being money, make them dares. This calls for an ~interesting~ night.

Not everyone may want to ride the bull, so ensure there are some fun activities before the bar or club. Set up a "Wanted" photo booth so it looks like a old western prison and POSE!

7. Hashtags

A fun way to keep track of photos and to have fun with social media is to give your party a hashtag. This way all your girls can add photos and add your hashtag - allowing you to go through your social media and see pictures you may (or may not) remember!

Some fun country or Nashville bachelorette party hashtags are:

  • #NashBash
  • #Nashelorette
  • #LastBashInNash
  • #BootsAndBling
  • #BridesLastRide

Masquerade

Hello ladies,

For you girls who want an elegant affair with a dark twist for your bachelorette party - we have just the theme for you; Masquerade Ball. This party calls for intricate masks, bold makeup, and elegant attire. Hosting this bachelorette party allows for a lot of fun creativity in the decor and a gorgeous evening with your favourite girls.

We of course have a Pinterest board specifically for a Masquerade themed bachelorette party!

1. Food

Food for your Masquerade ball will be quite simple. There is no one food item that is expected all this type of bachelorette, whereas, at a fiesta bachelorette, tacos are a MUST.

Therefore, you can make ANY food you'd like. All the theme lies within the decor and setup of the food table. Our first suggestion, your colour scheme is black, white and one accent colour of your choice (e.g. gold, blue, pink, red). Once the accent colour is chosen, choose foods that match this colour scheme.

2. Drinks

Obviously a classy drink is needed for this classy affair. Drinks like dirty martinis and champagne are always a crowd pleaser. However, lets stray from the obvious and get a little risque.

We've chosen our favourite drink recipe to share with you; Blackberry Lavender Champagne Cocktail from The Adventure Bite

To make eight drinks, you will need

  • 1 tablespoon of lavender flowers (dried or fresh)
  • 1 cup of frozen or raw blackberries
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup of vodka
  • 2 (750ml) bottles of champagne

Directions

Boil the blackberries, maple syrup and vodka, mashing the berries as they cook for about 5 minutes. Add in the lavender flowers and boil for 1 additional minute. Remote the pot from the heat, and if you have time, allow the mixture to steep from anywhere between 1 hour to 2 days in the fridge.

To serve, pour 1 tablespoon of the above mixture in a champagne glass and top it with chilled champagne.

4. Outfits

Dressing for the occasion is of course a biggie so ensure you and your bride tribe are dressed to impress. Dress like you're attending a literal Masquerade Ball; beautiful little black dresses, some with extravagant sparkle. Go all out.

The mask is the staple of Masquerade. So ensure you have a beautifully detailed mask to wear for the night. If you feel like the mask may bother you, or your great at doing makeup, play around - a makeup mask will look just as amazing as a actual mask and will also show off your makeup talents!

5. Decor

There are three things each Masquerade party needs: gold, feathers and pearls. The decorations for this party, you need to bring all the glitz and glam. Don't worry - you can do so while maintaining a budget.

A can of glitter spray paint is a must. Spray paint old mason jars, wine bottles or wine glasses to drink out of. Even spray paint the bottom of some black balloons to add contrast and colour. Stick peacock feathers in decor and wrap pearls around the decor. Overall, your decor will be totally captivating.

6. Game Ideas

The Masquerade is all about masking your face and the unknown about each other; the dark and mysterious. To stick with this daring theme, plan a Masquerade murder. Basically, play a game of Clue but without the board. Give clues and hints about what happened, and ensure you trick your squad along the way. Here is how to plan a murder mystery game.

A fun way to commemorate the game is to take mugshots of the "suspects" as seen below!

A fun way to keep track of photos and to have fun with social media is to give your party a hashtag. This way all your girlfriends can add photos and add your hashtag - allowing you to go through your social media and see pictures you may (or may not) remember!

Special Bachelor Party Edition: Vegas Baby!

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our special edition of our Bachelorette Party Series: The Bachelor Party.

We are straying from our usual bachelorette party themes for a one time blog for our male friends out there, aka our bros. So, grab a cold one and get reading.

Nothing screams bachelor party quite like Vegas does, but sometimes our wallets don't jump for joy when we try to get there. SO, we have come up with a party plan to host the most posh Vegas bachelor party without breaking the bank, or even without being in Vegas.

We, of course, have a Pinterest board specifically for a Vegas themed bachelor party, check out our board for more inspiration!

1. Food

Food for this type of themed party is easy because Vegas offers really any food you'd like. But, if you are taking on the "high roller" persona for the day/weekend, you have to have some pretty fancy foods.

Our suggestion, have a surf and turf. Not only is that a high rolling staple for lots of Vegas resorts, but it is also a crowd pleaser.

What's great about this option is that you can definitely go out for some delicious grub or you can grill up some steaks and boil some crab at the comfort of yours or a buddy's home.

Don't worry if you don't know how to grill a perfect steak, we have included a photo below for some help.

2. Drinks

Because you are trying to fulfill your inner Bond fantasies by throwing this party, the main drink of the night is of course, whisky. Whisky is a broad alcoholic drink because under it falls Bourbon, Scotch, Rye and more. So, we suggest you grab a bottle of each type of Whisky and let your bros decide which drink on the rocks they are sticking to.

Learn your whisky, boys!

3. Invites

Now that your food is all planned out, you probably should invite your wolf pack. Now-a-days most invites are via text or Facebook, but c'mon, physical invitations call for a great keepsake and memory holder.

Keep the invites short and to the point. The invite below is a perfect example of the simplicity of the invite needed, we would, however, suggest mentioning it is Vegas theme and to dress appropriately for that.

source: pepixel.com.au

4. Outfits

Dressing for the occasion is of course a biggie so ensure you and your henchmen are dressed to impress. Dress like your Bond, James Bond. Whether you are full out in a tuxedo, or dress pants and dress shirt; you'll be sure to impress onlookers with your spiffy, clean-cut look.

5. Decor

The decorations for this party need to be similar to the environment of Vegas. Having a whisky bar beside a round poker table is the best way to go. Yes, poker tables can be a little pricey and we are trying to save money here, SO, click the photo below to learn how to make your own poker table. *Cough* Best Man duties *Cough*.

6. Game Ideas

Do we even need to tell you which games to play!? I mean, Vegas themed, you must know what we're about to say: CASINNNOOOO. Any casino games you find fun, do them. In #5: Decor, I mentioned making a poker table. You can play plenty of card games there; 5 hand draw, texas hold 'em, black jack, the list goes on.

Hold a poker tournament with a $20 spending cap. Then, no one spends too much money and the winners still get a decent payout.

7. Hashtags

A fun way to keep track of photos and to have fun with social media is to give your party a hashtag. This way all your bros can add photos and add your hashtag - allowing you to go through your social media and see pictures you may (or may not) remember!

Some fun Vegas bachelor party hashtags are:

  • #VegasBaby
  • #JoeAndTheWolfPack
  • #WhatHappensWithJoeStaysWithJoe
  • #JoesBachEntourage
  • #TeamJoe

8. Surprises from S.O

If you're reading this and you are the significant other of the man whose party this is, here are some surprise gift ideas for you to give him!

  • His favourite whisky: Get him a nice fancy whisky for his night or weekend away. This shows you paid attention to his whisky preferences and know he is going to look like a total boss popping open this expensive bottle.
  • On the rocks whisky glass: give your favourite dude a whisky glass that will keep his drinks cold all night long. This kit, from Indigo, includes a silicone ice molds that make an ice ball that perfectly swirls around the bottom of the glass always keeping his drink on the rocks.

Tacos & Tequila, Fiesta Theme

Margaritas, Mexican food, bright colours and my favourite girls in the world?! Don't mind if I do! A taco & tequila (T&T) bachelorette party is always a good idea!

For even more inspiration, check out our Pinterest board specifically for a fiesta themed bachelorette party!

1. Food

Food for your T&T party is super simple because it's all about them chips and tacos! Set up a salsa bar for appetizers including tortilla chips and the best fiesta style dips: salsa, guacamole, sour cream, habanero, hummus, corn, etc. As for the main event, switch that salsa bar into a taco bar. The transition will be easy because a lot of the "fixings" stay the same for chips and tacos.

There's a ton of decor ideas for fiesta themed parties. But, don't lose focus and have 100 things going on. Choose a few items within the Fiesta theme to stick to. For example, cacti, piñatas, tacos and/or sombreros. If you are throwing a fiesta themed bachelorette party, you can't NOT have a piñata - let's be real.
